Bali Bound: A Learning Journey To Green Camp Bali

Clarissa Lin, Primary 6 Integrity
On the 27th of February 2024, the primary 6 students went on a graduation field trip to Green Camp Bali on Bali island. It was the first time Bina Bangsa Primary 6 students all went on a field trip by plane, so we were all over the moon when we heard where we were going.
At departure time, there was a lot of excitement in the morning air. When role-call was complete, the students had to bid farewell to their parents. It was an emotional and heartfelt moment. We got our luggage checked-in and got our plane tickets.
As we walked out of the airport, our friendly facilitators were already there waiting for us. On our way there, the students had a blast singing songs, eating snacks, and chatting with their friends.
When we arrived at Green Camp, we were welcomed by the lush trees and blooming flowers surrounding the entire camp. The facilitators introduced themselves and the camp, telling us the wide variety of activities in store for us such as mangrove planting, mud wrestling, coconut climbing , night safari and many more! But first, we all learned the importance of not wasting food and to care more for our environment and nature.
During our amazing home-made plant-based meals, 2 students were appointed to weigh our food waste. We managed to cut it down to almost zero! “The food was so yummy, especially the pizzas which we got to make by ourselves,” commented one student
There were so many fun-filled and educational activities each day. Elliot, a Primary 6 student, expressed that he loved reaching the top of a coconut tree all by himself. Another student, Brielle, explained that she really enjoyed exploring the mangroves and planting her own tree
On the last day, we were all very sad to say goodbye. It is and always will be a happy and memorable memory for all of us.
