The Bina Bangsa School Primary Field Trip has been brought back to life. What comes to mind when you hear that? It is spelled F-U-N.

On September 29th 2022, the BBS Primary Department went to Argotelo, Salatiga. At departure time, there was so much excitement in the morning air. On our way there, students had a blast singing songs, eating some snacks, and chatting with their friends.

After about an hour, we were welcomed by a tuk tuk, a cute truck which had no windows or doors with lots of seats, to take us to the Agrowisata Argotelo. There were many activities, such as a farmer’s dance and making a gemblong, a traditional food from Java made from cassava.

The hot weather didn’t stop us from planting trees. I bet it was most students’ very first time planting a real cassava shoot in the ground. Also, it was very fun when we had time to try egrang, a traditional game from Java. It consists of two bamboo stilts that you need to try to walk with! Not to forget the cassava colored flour that we threw into the sky. How fun!

Then, it was what everyone was waiting for…Fishing time! All the students were so excited to get inside the pond with so many fish.

As the sun was right on top of our head, it was time to go back home and back to our routines. However, this trip had given us so much pleasure, and we were happy that we could have a field trip after such a long time.

Thank you, teachers, thank you Argotelo Salatiga!
